Just ordered this beauty and I have to wait until March to get it. The torture. I am learning that Toronto is definitely a foodie city and I love it!
Baked: New Frontiers in Baking
I picked up this cookbook, Miette, while looking around at Barnes and Noble since it was just so pretty. It did not dawn on me when I bought it that I have actually been to the little shop that the treats are made for in the San Francisco ferry building! I ran the SF half marathon last summer and it ends right near the ferry building! It was providence.
I made the first recipe which is a standard type of white cake named “hot milk cake”. My cakes fell in the middle since I baked then at my parents house which is close to 3,000 feet. I was able to level them into a nice little layer cake. I will have to adjust some recipes. Here is the beautiful cover of the book and my fallen cakes:
